Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Video Editor to become part of our vibrant news agency client. The perfect candidate should possess a solid video editing background, a sharp attention to detail, and the capacity to operate effectively within strict time constraints. Your main tasks will include editing news clips, producing captivating video material, and guaranteeing that all video endeavours adhere to our editorial guidelines and brand identity.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Editing: Edit news segments, feature stories, interviews, and other video content for broadcast and digital platforms.
Content Creation: Collaborate with reporters, producers, and other team members to conceptualize and develop compelling video narratives.
Footage Review: Analyze and select appropriate footage, ensuring quality and relevance to the story being told.
Post-Production: Manage the post-production process, including color correction, audio enhancement, and visual effects.
Archiving: Organize and maintain video archives for easy retrieval and future use.
Quality Control: Ensure that all video content meets our agency’s quality standards and complies with legal and ethical guidelines.
Timely Delivery: Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines, especially during breaking news events.
Collaboration: Work closely with the newsroom team to adapt content for various platforms, including social media, web, and broadcast.
Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies in video production.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in video editing, preferably in a news or media environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer) and familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
Creative Vision: Strong storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex information visually.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding audio and visual elements.
Time Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as news events require.
